Chlamydia screening is widely available in Singapore at GP clinics, sexual health clinics, women’s health centres, and private medical practices. Most clinics that offer STI testing will provide Chlamydia screening as part of their standard panel.
The test itself is simple and usually involves either a urine sample or a swab test (vaginal, cervical, or urethral depending on gender and symptoms). Results can take anywhere from 1 to 3 working days, depending on the clinic and type of test used.
Chlamydia is often asymptomatic, so regular screening is recommended if you are sexually active, have a new partner, or had unprotected intercourse. Early detection helps prevent complications such as infertility or pelvic inflammatory disease.
