Businesses should avoid shared logins because they reduce security and make it difficult to control and monitor access.

    Using individual accounts helps businesses:

    • Identify who performed an action in the Shopify admin.
    • Assign role-based permissions so employees only access what they need.
    • Quickly remove access when someone leaves the business.
    • Improve account security with individual authentication and two-factor authentication.
    • Create clearer audit trails for administrative activity.
    • Reduce the risk associated with a single password being shared or compromised.

For Shopify stores, each staff member should generally have their own account with appropriate permissions rather than sharing one login.
