Why is migration order important?

Products should be imported first, followed by customers and then historical orders. This maintains correct relationships between data.

Migration order is important because some data and systems depend on other data being migrated and configured first. A structured sequence reduces errors and helps ensure the Shopify store works correctly at launch.

    A typical order may be:

    1. Back up and audit existing data.
    2. Set up Shopify and the theme.
    3. Migrate products, variants, and collections.
    4. Migrate customers and historical orders.
    5. Configure payments, shipping, taxes, and apps.
    6. Set up SEO redirects and other integrations.
    7. Test the store and place test orders.
    8. Complete final data synchronization and launch.

Following the right order helps prevent missing dependencies, duplicate data, broken integrations, inventory problems, and checkout issues.
