Not every domain extension can be transferred into Shopify. Shopify only supports domain transfers for certain TLDs (top-level domains).
Some domain extensions may be connectable to Shopify but not transferable, while others may not be supported at all. This can include certain country-code or specialized TLDs with registry-specific transfer rules.
The safest approach is to check Shopify’s current list of supported domain extensions before starting a transfer. If an extension isn’t eligible for transfer, the merchant can generally keep it with the existing registrar and connect it to Shopify using DNS settings.
