Vector relevance is a method used by AI search engines and large language models to measure how closely a piece of content matches the meaning and intent of a user’s query. Instead of relying only on exact keyword matches, AI converts both the query and the content into mathematical representations called vectors (embeddings) and compares them to determine semantic similarity.
For example, if a user searches for “best engagement rings for a proposal,” an AI system can recognize that content about diamond engagement rings, proposal rings, and solitaire rings is relevant, even if it doesn’t use the exact same wording.
