A Shopify section group is a container that lets merchants organize multiple theme sections together in a specific area of the storefront.

For example, a section group can contain:

    • Header sections
    • Footer sections
    • Navigation elements
    • Other related theme sections

Section groups are part of Shopify’s Online Store 2.0 theme architecture and help theme developers create more flexible, reusable storefront layouts. They also allow merchants to customize groups of sections through the theme editor.
