A creator brief is a document or set of instructions provided to an influencer or content creator that explains what a brand expects from the content they create for a campaign.

It gives creators the necessary information to produce on-brand content while maintaining their own authentic style and creativity.

    A creator brief typically includes:

    • Campaign objective: Explains the main goal, such as awareness, engagement, traffic, or sales.
    • Brand information: Provides background about the brand, product, and positioning.
    • Target audience: Describes who the content should reach.
    • Key messages: Highlights the important product benefits or points the creator should communicate.
    • Deliverables: Specifies the required Reels, posts, Stories, videos, blogs, or other content.
    • Creative direction: Provides guidance on tone, visuals, themes, and storytelling.
    • Do’s and don’ts: Identifies claims, language, visuals, or topics that should be included or avoided.
    • Call to action: Explains the desired audience action, such as visiting a website or using a discount code.
    • Disclosure requirements: Provides instructions for clearly identifying sponsored or paid content.
    • Deadlines: Specifies content submission, approval, and publication dates.
    • Usage rights: May explain how and where the brand can reuse the creator’s content.
    • Tracking information: Can include unique links, affiliate codes, hashtags, or campaign tags.

Example: A skincare brand may give a creator brief explaining the moisturizer’s key benefits, target audience, required Reel format, approved product claims, discount code, disclosure requirements, and publishing deadline.

In short: A creator brief provides clear campaign direction while giving creators enough flexibility to produce content in their own authentic voice and style.
