What happens if SSL is pending?

    If SSL is pending for a Shopify domain, Shopify is still provisioning the SSL certificate needed to secure the domain with HTTPS.

    While it’s pending:

    • The custom domain may not load securely over HTTPS yet.
    • Visitors may temporarily see a security or connection warning.
    • The domain’s SSL status will remain pending in Shopify.
    • DNS configuration or propagation issues can sometimes delay SSL provisioning.

    Merchants should verify that the domain’s DNS records point correctly to Shopify and allow time for the certificate to be issued. If the status remains pending for an extended period, checking Shopify’s domain settings or contacting Shopify Support is recommended.
