Yes. Two-step authentication (2SA) is required to use Shopify Payments. Shopify requires merchants who use Shopify Payments to enable a secure sign-in method to help protect payouts and sensitive financial information.
Without two-step authentication (or another eligible secure sign-in method, such as a passkey), Shopify Payments payouts could be placed on hold, and merchants may be prompted to enable additional security before continuing to use financial features.
