Shopify POS works with Shopify’s local pickup (buy online, pick up in store) workflow, allowing merchants to manage pickup orders from their retail locations.
With local pickup, merchants can:
Offer Buy Online, Pick Up In Store (BOPIS) to customers
Receive pickup orders in Shopify
Prepare and fulfill pickup orders from a specific location
Mark orders as ready for pickup
Notify customers when their order is ready
Complete the pickup transaction through Shopify POS when the customer arrives
Because Shopify POS and the online store share the same inventory and order data, stock levels are updated automatically when pickup orders are fulfilled, helping prevent overselling and keeping inventory synchronized across channels.
