What happens if a staff member lacks permissions?

If a Shopify staff member lacks the required permissions, they won’t be able to access or perform the restricted actions in Shopify Admin.

For example, they may be unable to:

• View certain store information.
• Edit products or orders.
• Manage customers.
• Access financial or billing information.
• Install or manage apps.
• Change store settings.

Shopify shows only the areas and actions that the staff member’s assigned permissions allow. An administrator or store owner can update the staff member’s permissions when additional access is required.
